Counselor

Greetings, 

I am Shayla George-Williams, School Counselor at R. B. Hudson STEAM Academy. I have been an educator for nineteen and a half years serving in the capacity of teacher, Library Media Specialist, and School Counselor. Counseling has always been my passion from the very start of my career. My motto is, “If I can help someone on my journey, then my living will not be in vain”. Building relationships and making certain my scholars have an excellent and enjoyable educational experience, is my “WHY” for choosing school counseling.

It is important that I provide the absolute best opportunities for my scholars. Therefore, I deem myself a lifelong learner.  An excellent education is of paramount importance to me. I am a 1998 graduate of Wilcox Central High School (Camden, AL). I hold certifications in Elementary Education (grades k-6), School Counseling (P-12) and Library Media (grades P-12). I am a proud hornet of Alabama State University. I am also a two time graduate of the University of West Alabama. I love my immediate (husband and three boys) and extended families. Also, I find JOY in working with the World Changers and scholars of R. B. Hudson STEAM Academy, where we are always "STEAMing for Excellence".
